Kids are pretty smart, aren’t they?
Our kids are going to have a chance to actually vote at the polls this year as opposed to just in their classroom. What a great way to get kids interested in the political process and to start valuing the right to vote at an early age.

Nickeloden has been around longer than that. I think what PH is implying is there was no internet back in 1992 for kids to go on vote.

Except that Kids are dumb (and naive).
George Bush won the election. The continual whining about the 2000 popular vote is just that. Sour grapes. The US Presidential popular vote is essential meaningless when it comes to the US Constitution.
My suggest is that those Nick. kids read the Constitution sometime. It's a good document.

12 years ago computers definitel were not the household item that they are now. 12 years ago they were definitely not child friendly. 12 years ago children were not eager to come home from school and go online.

And US Teens Want 4 more years of W!
| Quote: | American teens have spoken, and they want George W. Bush for president. Nearly 1.4 million teens voted in the nation's largest mock election, and the Republican incumbent wound up with 393 electoral votes and 55 percent of the total votes cast.
Democratic challenger Sen. John Kerry received 145 electoral votes, far short of the 270 electoral votes needed to win a presidential election. Kerry received 40 percent of the total votes, while five percent of teens selected the third-party option, though no third-party presidential hopefuls managed to pick up any electoral votes.
In an exit poll taken after making their pick for president, teens weighed in on the issues most important to them. A majority of respondents-- 44 percent-- said that the war in Iraq was the most important issue facing the candidates today. The economy was the first priority in the minds of 22 percent of teens, followed by education (14 percent), national security (12 percent) and health care (8 percent). |

Will the AP cover this kid poll too? (Wait, I know the answer to that question.)
