Well, if you can't see the connection between this and the "Where has everyone gone" threads, then there's no reason to say any more.

Maybe you should post in this forum, instead.

Well, perhaps that is where you differ from some of us here. If you don't wish to truly become a part of the community and connect with anyone here, that's certainly your option and no one will think ill of you for it.

I am not GaRebelRunner (Blacksheep), but this post seems like you do think ill of him.

But conversely, do NOT look down on those of us who do take this more seriously than "just the internet" because of the personal connections we have made through the internet. I've met some truly amazing people whose paths I would likely have never crossed had it not been for the internet, and I wouldn't trade having those people in my life for anything. You can choose to disagree all you want, but I would ask that you show a little courtesy and respect those opinions that differ from your own on that issue.

And I didn't get from his posts that he was looking down on anyone. I think he was just stating his opinion.
I mean doesn't everyone?

I don't think so (to the question of whether Cappy meant someone else). But these people do have a hard time with dissent. They cry if you remind them what a crummy president Reagan was but they feel perfectly justified to make cracks about anyone else who's famous with the understanding that that is the life they chose.

Genie, you can think what you want about people who leave. You mentioned some but you left a whole lot of other people off. People who have left b/c of the zero tolerance policy.

The double standard is growing.

So Cappy I repeat, are you trying to throw me off this forum?

I dont think he mean you GAR. I think he was thinking that if G3 wanted a more agreeable group, she could post over there where most people have similar ideas. It seems as though more people here are for reserving comment for or against President Reagan than striking while the kettle is hot so to speak.

I do not think you have been browbeaten. I think you have been called to task on your reasoning and timing of comments. The fact that you have more people saying con rather than pro your comments maybe why you think you are getting brow beaten.

please be more specific about this.
Being famous and being the president are two completely different categories.

I can't throw you out, and I wouldn't. I was just suggesting that you might be more at home and comfortable talking with other Greenies than you would be here.

...and nothing could be as bad as your UBB

I don't see it that way. A president's choices impact us directly, but they're both famous. We see a lot of them. We get to know them, or think we do anyway.

You guys have no trouble dissing the Clinton Administration (nor do I) and you never dis each other for having dissed a president. You act now like we should give all this respect to the position of President but it's not like you do that when you don't agree with a president's position.

People who are famous include theologians, actors, Nobel prize winners, politicians, scientists, astronauts, etc. We certainly don't have to agree with all of them. The others are there for something they did. The politicians are there because of their money and something others did. Why is that occupation somehow more sacred?
