This isn't going to turn into another boob thread is it?
My dad was telling me that they're already getting Christmas stuff out at some of the stores back home.

Usually they wait until after October at least.
I wonder if sending stuff out this early really increases their total yearly sales, or if they are just looking to boost their Q3 revenue by getting stuff out in September.

Its quite possible. Most retail store's fiscal years end in January.

and the JCPenney catalog as well. The bra/lingerie pages used to totally embarass me and I'd skip over them.
I am normally a boycotter of holidays until that particular holiday's month has arrived (i.e. Valentine as of Feb 1, Easter April 1, Christmas, Dec 1).
However, last week at Wal-Mart they had this stuffed reindeer (who is all fluffy and soft), with Jingle Bells on his antlers. He's attached to a base and sits on a counter and you press his paw and he sings jingle bells while his body jiggles back and forth (and making his antlers jingle). It is absolutely priceless. They had only one. I had to have it. HAD TO.
