Ohhh mannnn.....my house is smellin' yummmmyyyyy.......got Mr. Birdbrain in the oven getting nice and brown and I just made a pot of fresh cranberry chutney that even you HATAHS couldn't pass up. This stuff rocks, I swear I ate half a pot cooking it! I'll never eat that scary jellied stuff again! (not that I ate it to begin with.....)
Anyone else starting the cooking fiesta early?

My house smells like cheesecake. Took it out of the oven about 20 minutes ago. I'm sooooo sleepy but have to stay up until it's cooled.

Mmmmm....cheesecake! I'm getting up early to make mine tomorrow. Juggling the oven is always the worst part of Thanksgiving. What kind did you make?

New York Cheesecake
I toyed with the idea of making a wonderful mixed fruit topping but then realized that I like it plain so I just bought a can of cherry pie filling to ladle on the side. <grin>

Send the cheesecake right on over! I love cheesecake and I want to have it here for dessert tomorrow.
Since the kids were sick, I did not attempt to make one this year. I had thought about doing so.

That's what I'm making too! I usually make pumpkin cheesecake but my mom and cousin both wanted cherry cheesecake, so I'm doing NY with the pie filling too. I couldn't find fresh cherries......
Marcie, hope your kiddies are better soon!

I've got the bird in the oven now, not sure how long it will take to cook, so I am sure this day will be quite an experience.
Hope everyone has a great holiday!!

Doing the pies right now.
If those Oaster boys are lucky, there will be a cherry pie in their future!

Well, my house was supposed to be smelling by now with Turkey in the oven, potatoes being boiled on the stove, deviled eggs being made.
Unfortunately one of my relatives calls last night and insists I must be at their house for Thanksgiving.
So, my house will smell like Turkey on Sunday when I cook my butterball. In the interim I'll have to wait and see what their house smells like this afternoon.

We have 2 turkeys. One was cooked last night by the inlaws and Sophie stayed upstairs until who knows what time hoping for some kind of handout. Turkey #2 in oven now with squash. I have sweet potatoes on the stovetop now boiling and jello mold is ready for the day. I'm slightly tipsy already and it's only noon. Did a road race this am and they have free Guinness and Harp after. Somehow my cup was always full.
