I got the game for hubby's b-day last Nov.

Well, he had to buy himself a new lap top so he could play it. His old one isn't good enough. Turned out his new one wouldn't play it 15 mins after starting the game (the video card isn't good enough). He is sending the game back to MS and getting a refund for it. He's very disappointed.

Anyone else got this game and run into problems too?

I've played the demo on my computer at work (non laptop).

I'm afraid if I buy the full version that I'll become a mouse potato.

I have it and it runs great on my laptop. I have a Dell Lattitude 810, P4 2.0 Ghz, 1 GB Ram. When I installed the demo it came up and told me that I don't have enough processor to run it (WFT???) but it was wrong. I can play it in 1024x768 resolution, with all the effects and not have a problem.

What is your video card size? My hubby's computer (LT) sounds too whimpy compared to yours.

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon x600 with 64MB. It is the weak link of my system.

I would love to try that game. I've been a huge fan of the AoE series. However, I've pretty much weaned myself completely from gaming and don't really want to revert. Not to mention there's no way in hell my computer would run it.
