Recap: Jan 15 I was one of nine cars run over by an 18 wheeler. My car was totaled and I was treated for whiplash. Since I have not fully recovered I went back to the doc.

I got the review of my MRI results. I have a pinched nerve between C3/C4. Also, signs of arthritis in several locations due to the trauma. The doc is going to send me to a neuro surgeon to verify treatment. He is almost certain it will be non-surgical.

I have an office visit next week to discuss temporary treatment and get the info for the neuro-surgeon.

Stay tuned and be careful out there.

Hang in there TriBob. Sounds like you've still got some more treatments to go through. Are they going to be able to give this a permanent fix or is this something you'll have to live with?

The family doc is guessing the treatment will be one or all of cortizone shots, traction with weights, and/or PT. He wants to get a second opinion from a specialist. Thats fine with me it only costs me time now.

He said he may put me on Vioxx; but, that seems scary. We just talked about that too, didn't we?

Hey, Tri. Get whatever treatment you need, mainly because you don't have to pay for it. Take care!

Arthritis... wow, hadn't realized that it could be induced from a trauma. No fun. You're doing the right thing to persue whatever it takes throughout recovery.

I'd give you the old buttslap, but with a sore back...

Hopefully you can recover fully Bob!
The good thing is, you are here to tell everyone about it.

That's no fun, but hopefully all you need is time and a buxom Swedish lady to rub your neck several times a week.

Did she say "Swedish"?!

Here's hoping your PT is from the Stockholm School of Massage.
Keepin' my fingers crossed on the non-surgery route.
