On our way back home from our wish trip, Abby was pulled out of the line to be checked by the TSA. She was in her adaptive stroller with her nurse. So Abby got patted down, wanded and had to take her shoes off. Then the stroller got a thorough working over.
I understand why they check but I just had to laugh at how silly it all looked.
I am just glad they did not pat her belly too hard. If they would have popped her colostomy bag we would have had a hazardous materials incident.
Fly safe everyone, Abby is good to go.

we always have to fly with paperwork from my son's MD authorizing us to carry a bunch of potentially lethal stuff onto the plane. there's no way i'm checking "that" bag for fear i'd never see the bleepin thing again... i completely understand their reasoning, but on the other hand..

When we were leaving Orlando in June, I got pulled aside to be checked, doesn't bother me (I've been pulled aside the last 3 times I've flown). Anyhow, A lady in front of me being checked had to be at least 90 year old in a wheelchai,she could barely get up to be wanded. I just thought that was a little overboard, I felt bad for her, but I guess you never know what someone could plant on them or something.

It sucks, but if the parents were terrorists they could hide stuff on sweet children and old people, thinking "no one will ever look here" .

I get checked everytime I travel alone or with the girlie. I fit the profile, I guess. I am glad they're there. I'm glad they checked Abby, because you can just never know about those Oasters. Slimy little buggers. Especially with the hot sauce.*

Just saw a report on 20/20 about airport safety and the money being sunk into it. Showed a guy in Toronto's Pearson Intl Airport touring around the tarmak, in the gates, in the "secure" workers-only areas. He told the crew that he could get into a secure area within minutes in pretty much any airport. And he wasn't sneaking around. Just walking normally, pulling his luggage around.
Fortunately he's a consultant and security is his business. Unfortunately the Canadian "government" has spent $2B to "improve" our security in airports. Looks like it was (my) money well spent....

Absolutely. Especially when virtually EVERY single act of commercial airline terrorism over the last 25 years has been traced back to someone of middle eastern and/or muslim decent.
I think we need a little less political correctness and a little more common sense. Even uber liberal Bill Mahrer agrees with me on this issue.
