Where to go? I'm not well travelled so I don't know. We are thinking beach, beach, beach. Mexico or the Carribean. Where've you been that was awesome?

I just love the ocean and the beaches! Well back when I was living in Singapore we had lots of opportunities to head up to Malaysia, our next door neighbor since Singapore's connected to Malaysia by a causeway. One of the best places we ever visited up there was an island in the South China Sea. We had to take a ferry from Malaysia to this island. We stayed in traditional beachside huts. The waters are crystal clear and the beaches pure white. The whole island was surrounded by coral reefs and teemed with marine life. The place still retained alot of its natural scenery (rainforests, coral reefs) and not much development has taken place. I remembered snorkelling over the reefs and walking through a bit of the rainforest.
Another place that I have been to was Australia (when I was in grade 4) and that was an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. We stayed at Brisbane and traveled down the Gold Coast region. The scenery and wildlife were awesome. Saw lots of kangaroos and even a large lizard that still freaks me out till this day. I had the chance of carrying a koala while visiting the zoo down there.

I'm with you, although without the kids along almost anything can be turned into a romantic vacation.
How about Hilton Head? I've always wanted to go there.

Swept Away Resort in Jamaica
Best vacation I've ever been on. They take care of everything for you and the resort is geared towards people with more active life styles. But it isn't one of those places where someone is following you around trying to get you involved in group activities.
The rooms are incredible too. Check out the web site at http://www.swept-away.com/

Bermuda, definitely!!!! Absolutely gorgeous pink sand beaches, enough to do to keep you busy but plenty of time for too.....and unlike Jamaica and some of the other Caribbean locales, you can mingle with the natives in town and you're not limited to having to stay on your resort. We went into Hamilton a couple nights and had a blast. In Jamaica they don't let you out at night in town because it's really dangerous, although the resorts are pretty all inclusive, but I always like to meet the locals so that's why we like Bermuda. Not as much poverty there either since it's a former English colony.
Grotto Bay is on one side of the island if you want more quiet: http://www.grottobay.com/ and Sonesta Beach is awesome: http://www.sonesta.com/bermuda/
If you want a little more high-end, Cap Juluca in Anguilla. My cousin used to run the resort but he's recently moved back to the states.

Last October, Mr. Go surprised me with an anniversary present to Grand Bahama Island, a resort called Viva Fortuna. We loved it. It's very low-key, kind of southern version of family camp in the Berkshires with European counterparts. Also, it's all-inclusive.
Viva has other resorts in Mexico as well. I think Puerta Vallarta on the west coast is also very nice.

I have diagnosed myself with ADD and because of this I don't think I could stay in one beach town for more than a day or 2, so a cruise was great for me, something new everyday. Several beaches, lots of shopping and sun, great food. And we weren't all that impressed with Nassau, but no biggie, its just one day!
I went on Royal Caribbean and had no complaints.

Check this out, there might be some good deals here:
http://www.usairwaysvacations.com/vacation_savers/index.asp
Cruises are always a neat idea because you get to shop around for where you might want to go back to, there's tons to do (and drink and eat) on the ship itself, and like Pfff said, if you hate a place, you're only stuck there for a day instead of a weekend or a week.

Hawaii is probably pretty expensive from all the way over there, but it is one of the best places on Earth.
Especially Maui - there is so much to do that you wouldn't have to spend every day lying on the beach - but you could if you wanted to.
