Go here for the story and update. First time in 24 years there is a staged walkout by a chamber of the Texas Legislture.

The Ds say they are going to stay on the lam until Friday morning. Its going to be some long days around here.

Wow! They just barely made it... 97 out of 100 needed.

Where are they hiding?

I just spoke to Mrs. Gray on the phone. I told her you are NOT missing. You are just missing home, her and the kids a lot. Be home soon.

Big news indeed. I find this all very interesting and the wording of the article bothers me a bit. They repeatedly use the phrase "Since the Republicans took control of the house...". They make it sound like the Republicans stormed the building and took over. Those people were elected, no? The people of Texas decided whom they wanted as their representatives. The elected officials of the opposite political party don't like what the majority of the people want, so they stage a walk out?

I'm sorry this is messing you up Alan. I have no idea which side your bosses are on, but I hope all works out well for the people of Texas.

Can I interest you in a bag of Jalapeno Chips while you're waiting? Mr. Green

We have no opinion either way on the reason--which is Congressional redistricting. In one way the walkout works to my advantage, but in another way it doesn't. It is a bit of a mixed bag, but the overall delay is a plus. It will just make for a few long days of wating on something, anything, to happen.

Gee...I hope this means they don't get around to slashing my pay. Can we have all of them arrested? I could be fun.

C'mon Alan, you know you're hoping Gov. Perry calls a special session so you can do this all over again.

We knew last year the budget problems were so large that special sessions would be necessary. The Regular session is just a prelude to the real work--at least this time around.
