husband who had been driving and almost got into an accident. It is bad enough she comes in to pick up her husband. She comes in with her 3 year old and 1 year old boys in the PJ's. The three year old says we are here to pick up my daddy. Sad

If that is not a reason to do what he did I don't know what is.

Just another reason why I hate DUI.

I hope not, the one boy is 3 years old. The boy was cute in his little pjs. First time for his dad thankfully. The dad was pretty remorseful, I doubt we will see him again.

We are considering dropping the charges Wink . We figure his wife will get him far worse than the criminal justice system will.

Screw dropping the charges, let him suffer the consequences for his actions.

Tounge and cheek John. We would never do that. But we saw the look on her face and we knew, the judge would be light on him compared to what the justice he was getting at home.

Speaking as someone who has been there before ( in the woman's shoes, sans children) I have mixed feelings as to whether or not you should drop the charges. Part of me says no, you shouldn't; if he is a habitual drunk it won't matter what you fine him/,make him watch in counseling/jail,etc, ;license suspension, even making him listen to families of dunk drivers' victims won't help. He'll just keep at it until he hurts someone (these people see to be immune to injuring someone else).

On the other hand, if it's that bad; she and the kids will be the ones suffering the consequences (financially, emotionally, etc). So they get punished and he does not. And depending on how severe the fine, they'll pay for it for a while ( a first-time OMVI here will cost about $5,000.00 total).

I don't know; it's certainly not my choice to make. Good luck.

No charges will be dropped. He will have to follow through like every other bad guy. I think I was misunderstood. I really meant that any justice the courts give him would be nothing to having to live with the wife and kids picking him up at the station. His wife would not even look at him when he walked out.

I have to say that kind of accountablility and justice will go a lot farther too. He learned a big lesson.
