Yesterday, 21 December 2005, two members of your team, Brian Savage and Jon Sim visited my daughter Abigail at Children's Hospital. I wanted to let you know how grateful I was to have your players come out and see my daughter. Abby is 5 1/2 years old and has been admitted to the hospital 35 times and been hospitalized for a total of 545 days. In that time, she has never been visited by any celebrity. I for one appreciated their demeanor and kindness. They did not seem at all bothered or rushed.
It is nice to see some of the local celebrities come see the other sick kids in the hospital besides kids with cancer whom get the lion's share of visits from local sports celebrities. I am not discounting their disease but CHOP has numerous other children similar to Abby who are often overlooked because they don't have cancer.
Jon and Brian took valuable time out of their day and had a very fun filled visit. Even though Abby cannot talk I know she enjoyed the time those two young men played with her.
So thank you very much to your organization and especially Jon and Brian who graciously gave of themselves to brighten Abby's day.

Joseph,

Your email just gave me chills. I was with Jon & Brian yesterday during the visit and I sure remember your beautiful daughter Abigail. We are so happy to be able to spend time with such special children like Abigail. I wish you and your family a very very happy holiday season.

All the best,

Jill

that's very cool. i'm glad abby had a good time. hockey players are really nice with that. my cousin was Williams Syndrome and they got him out on the zamboni once. he loves zambonis so much. it's great when the kids get to do special things. and it's very cool that you wrote them thank you. a lot of parents with healthy kids (or the kids themselves) wouldn't stop to say thank you about those things. so good on you.
