On a semi serious note:
When we were kids we eagerly awaited Santa. I know we have memories of that time of year, the excitement, the waiting and the arrival of Santa on Christmas Day.
What part of the innocence of Christmas do you miss ?

By far waking up before anyone Christmas morning. That is, if I slept at all. First thing I'd do is wake up my bro and we'd go 'scouting'. We never got too carried away to the point that we peeled tape or anything.
We also had these old Swedish clogs. When we woke up, there would be one present in each, one for each of us, to open right away - kind of a teaser to hold us off (and I'm sure so our folks could sleep in a little bit).
I hope I can make Christmas morning as exciting for my boys as it was for me. Times have changed though, but I'll do my darndest!

I miss waking up on the actual day of Christmas and being with all my sisters and family and everything was fun. Now, it's nothing but stress trying to get everyone's schedules to sync up and arrange travelling (since the family lives all over the state) and having Christmas with mom on one day, then dad and stepmom another day and trying to fit in Ang's family also. To be honest, it's just gotten to be a big hassle.
Next year, I'll be at the pub. If you wanna see me, come find me.

we do christmas at like 2 am before we go to bed...
but i remember waking up in my mario bros pjs and hoping to god i'd get my NES or lego... we had stockings, and getting the presents from mom & dad, and then the coolest ones from Santa...
christmas was so intense back then.. the idea of "christmas morning" is now breakfast, and figuring out when he had to be ready for the big family dinner. this year i think i'll go for a hottub.
i still really like it, but it's more subdued, and laid back. but i was pretty sad last year when most of all i got was envelopes with money a kid does want something to actually open... after the third envelope, it wasn't really funny anymore...
christmas is fun. god bless it.

Christmas morning was the greatest!
You know what I always liked? Surprise gifts.
Things that you never asked for, but got, and then you used the crap out of them. My parents did a good job of buying things I didn't ask for.

I hated the fall asleep part. We got sent to bed at 8 PM and it was impossible to fall asleep. We usually rolled the parents out of bed at about 5 am or 6 am.

I still feel like a kid every Christmas. I still look out the window on Christmas Eve into the clear sky and wait to see the sleigh and reindeer fly across the moon. I still wake up with that warm fuzzy feeling every Christmas.
It's even better now that my girlie is around. It's so exciting to be excited with her.

I voted "other", I desparately miss my grandparents at Christmas. They were a part of every Christmas memory I have until they each passed. In hindsight I have so much respect and appreciation for the efforts my grandmother in particular made to be a part of our lives, despite living 1000 miles away. I miss her so very much. Anyway...
I always had to give up my bedroom for my grandparents and sleep on my sister's bottom bunk, which was its own set of hazing until Christmas Eve. We always went to the Midnight candlelight service, so that was special in that we already got to stay up late. Then we all three donned matching sets of candy cane striped pajamas (mine were footed ) and went to bed but never went to sleep. I vaguely remember her having her "jambox" on the top bunk and playing the greatest hits of about 1984 (as it was 1984) and watching the clock just tick by through the night...I remember opening gifts one at a time so we could also see what eachother got, and for us kids that was AGONIZINGLY slow, although, in hindsight I appreciate how it drug out the gift opening all day and made it that much more special. I remember watching "A Christmas Story" while my parents and Grandparents and sisters played dominos and my grandmother and dad just HOWLING laughing at the bumpus dogs. I remember giving Santa chex mix and water, because I wanted more Christmas cookies for myself and no one likes warm milk.

When I lived only an hour away....I had it at my house one year and it was like old times....then I moved further away and my house is too small for 30=40 people

I miss waking up with all the excitement and not having the worries I do today as an adult.
