PostPosted: 12/11/05 - 23:18    Post subject: 52 marathons in 2006

As many of you are aware in one aspect or another, I have been putting together an even since April wherein I am going to run 52 marathons in the year 2006 for charity. The charity I am dealing with is called L'Arche Mobile. L'Arche-Mobile is one of the many L'Arche communities worldwide. L'Arche is an international federation of communities in which people with a mental handicap and those who help them can live, work, and share their lives together. Obviously, a VERY worthwhile cause.

In order to make this a success I have been on the phone and computer for over 6 months contacting race directors, calling hotels and making deals with airlines in order to lower the costs associated with simply getting to the races and running them.

That said, I finally have my website up and running! It is located HERE: www.fiddy2.org

While some changes are still to be made (e.g. some marathon are still up in the air), it is for the most part, done.

Now I turn to you and ask for some assistance. In order to be able to undertake this task AND raise money for L'Arche Mobile I call upon my friends and acquaintances to do two things for me:

1. Donate: (Obviously). Be it 25 dollars or whatever you have, EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR HELPS. If you can give up one soy latte frappuccino one day and float 4 bucks my way, I would be eternally grateful.

2. Spread the word: I have done the hardest part. I have put together a website, spoken to all the necessary people to try and make this a success (and still am doing so) and am constantly training to be able to handle the rigors of running a full 26.2 miles every weekend. I only ask that you tell a friend. Or two. Or three. Send them to the website and get them involved. Think, "Hey, I knew him when he was only a little crazy. Now, look at this!"

You already know how to do 2. How do you Donate?

Go HERE: www.fiddy2.org/donate.html

On that page you will see a place to click that will take you to a secure website where you can input your credit card information. Follow the easy instructions and PRESTO! You have made me a very happy man.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's support and for everyone who has been cheering me on since the get go. For those who have been chomping at the bit waiting to donate, let er rip! It's finally here!

A final thank you for everyone reading this and I sincerely hope you will think about helping me out. Remember the cause is much more than me and will help not only raise money directly but awareness and attention indirectly.

We all want to help in this world. Here's an easy way for you to do so. If you happen to livei n any of the cities I have mentioned and want to help my providing accomodations, I would be eternally grateful

Thanks everyone.

Dane
