the weather will be unseasonably warm.
71 degrees at the start in Hopkinton in 2003
85 degrees during the race in Framingham in 2004
predicted high of 69 on Patriots Day this year.
If you've been training in the cold, 69 degrees is not good marathon running weather, maybe good for the spectators. I will give you the details of my crash and burn race in 2003 if anybody thinks that 69 degrees is good running weather.

No, not me, I learned my lesson in 2003! I'm done with spring marathons for the time being, just concentrating on 5K's right now.
What about you? Any plans for a spring marathon?

My hubby is avoiding the weather reports. Last year was way too hot to even enjoy the marathon. If the weather reports are correct it looks like a tail wind and cooler as the runners get into the city.
As for me I'll be at a bar on the 40k marker. Waiting with drink and friends. mmmmmmmmm dark and stormy!!!! I am so excited for Monday. I love watching! Today I'm going to the Hynes to stuff the marathon bags. Not working so minus well put my time to good use.

I wouldn't count on it. As New Englanders say, if you don't like the Boston weather report, wait fifteen minutes. Also, I think most people here already know that 69 degrees is not great marathon running weather, so no need for a re-hash of whatever disaster you bravely survived in 2003. Some of us would rather focus on the positive before toeing the line on Monday and don't need crap like "It's going to be hot and here's how you'll suffer" gory stories from years gone by.

What about you? Any plans for a spring marathon? | I'm currently building base for a fall marathon in October, which will be my first one...aiming for 3:00-3:10 currently...
