Why did Tavares even have the opportunity to get out of that inning? 11 balls out of 12 pitches? He was lucky to make that pitch. LaRussa was nuts to allow him to keep pitching even if it did work out in the end.
Since when is a player allowed to wipe sweat off their forehead and off from under their cap as often as Tavares was that inning? Isn't that worse than blowing in your hand?

It was for him. What a shoddy job of pitching that was.
As long as he's off the mound, he can do that stuff.

 I really like Tavares, but after that HR he lost it. I hate Tony LaRussa for these exact reasons. I can't figure out why they're still pitching to Beltran.
