Well my first race in over 6 weeks went pretty well. The day was gorgeous, about 55 degrees at gun time and sunny with just a little breeze. The course is pretty well shaded so even if the temps had been a little higher you can usually find enough shade to keep you cool. I felt pretty strong the whole time. No real aches or pains or issues. After about 3 miles I decided to try and keep my pace under 8 minute miles and I ended up doing that except for the last 2 miles. I saw my family on the course as they came out to cheer me on around mile 5. 2 of the guys I run with at lunch beat me by a good 3 minutes or so. I wish I could figure out how to get some of my speed back.

Mile 1: 7:58
Mile2: 7:36
Mile 3: 7:39
Mile 4: 7:43
Mile 5: 7:40
Mile 6: 7:41
Mile 7: 7:37
Mile 8: 7:51
Mile 9: 7:54
Mile 10: 7:55
Mile 11: 7:59
Mile 11: 7:59
Mile 12 8:12
Mile 13 8:18
Final 1/10th: .47

Watch Time: 1:43:10
Gun Time: 1:43:07
Chip Time: 1:42:48

40/109 in my age group
214 out of 670 in the male half

nice report Eric.

now, about that "getting my speed back"......I've got 3 more weeks of torture (speedwork twice a week) and then tested .....I'll let you know if torture helps with getting speed back.
