I was actually thinking about trying for 2000 in '04 so count me in on that one.

That means we have to average 40 a week assuming you take 2 weeks off for your bodies sake. This will be a push for me since I only run Monday to Friday at work but it will give me something to keep me motivated.

Is this something we are posting here or just keeping it to ourselves?

Hook me up for 2004 in 2004. Lord knows I tried to hit 2000 miles / year for the past two years and haven't hit it yet. Maybe 2004 will treat me better than 2003 and 2002.

I finally managed to get my mileage caught up and I'm just a few miles over where I need to be for the year (295 miles to date).

2004 / 366 = 5.47 miles per day

54 (days so far this year) x 5.47 = 295 miles

How's everybody else doing on reaching 2004 in 2004? It's going to be harder than I thought.

I am close to you PH. I am at 288 for the year, but that is after taking almost 2 weeks off while my wife was in trial. Time to hit the pavement more regularly.

I chose to do 26.2/week as my goal.

So far, I've hit 6 out of 8 weeks.
The two weeks I missed were after both HalfM's.

Currently I've averaged 28.16 mpw though.
I'm on track for the goal I selected.
I'm happy with this. Mr. Green

Note: I hit 40 miles this past week and know that it would be very hard to make the 2004 in 2004 goal.

I'm in between. I've run 1300+ and 1500+ miles the last two years, respectively.

The first challenge is something I've hit already the last two years. The second challenge would be WAY too difficult for me to attain.

This was a great idea, Cappy. I think you got some people thinking, including myself. I'm going to come up with something and post it, even if it is outside the lines of what you have suggested.

I might start up another thread where the challenges are based on times/performance. That might be good for some of us that fall in between the 2 goals stated here. Also, people could easily do both challenges.

I don't have a chance at the 2004 in 2004. I missed pretty much all of January, and the last 2 months were low volume. So unless I run 80mpw for the last 3 months (which I suppose is possible, but not probable) I won't make it.

I should average out to beat the marathon a week though.

As of today, I'm at 725 miles for the year or a little over 6 miles a day so far.

If I run the planned 10 miles tomorrow, I'm at 210 miles for the month. (which is a lot for me) I'll hit 2000 bike miles for the year tomorrow too.

I am about 70 miles behind right now. I had a poor showing miles wise in Feb and March finally over 100 again for this month.

I should have a strong May and rest of the year so I believe it is in reach

Currently at 560.33 miles for the year. Having one more easy run tomorrow to total ~165 miles for the month. I'm behind at the moment since I had a slow start to the year due to 2 reasons: (1) a minor foot injury from wornout shoes at the beginning of January and (2) low mileage in February (86 miles) after spending 2 weeks recovering from my 1st half. I'm picking up the pace now for 2004 miles for the year, maybe even more since my training plan for the fall starts next week. Going to log high mileage (50-70 mpw) for the next 4-5 months..so watch out!

I will let you know after tomorrow. Got hurt by missing 4 days last week due to the funeral and it has taken me longer to recover than I thought it might after the 50K.

Hmmppphhhh
