I am thinking of teaching my little son how to swim. There are numerous courses but my father suggested that I hire a personal trainer. He thinks that it is the best way for someone to learn some new skills. I know that it is much more expensive, but is it worth it? What do you think about 1 to 1 coaching?

Well, personal trainer is by far the best way to learn something. That is, if you can afford one. Make sure that you find a certified and licensed trainer. While learning in a group (of peers especially) can be fun, having a skilled person watching every move you make and correcting your mistakes is the fastest way of adopting new skill and knowledge. So I am definitely in favor of 1 on 1 coaching.
